Its free to use the most basic designs and features, or you can pay per project. There is even a monthly membership or yearly membership ($4.99 or $39.99 respectively) for those who really want to take full advantage of this site.
What’s so great about Smilebox.com? Well, are you one of those folks who has boxes full of scrapbooks and scrapbooking supplies? On Smilebox you can create great looking electronic scrapbooks that only take up disk space- not desk space.
If you are like many people with a digital camera you probably have tons of digital photos that you don’t always know what to do with. On Smilebox you can create a slideshow to organize, present, and enjoy your pictures.
Although I’ve used e-cards on other websites, I have not seen a service that lets you personalize your e-cards withyour own photos before coming across Smilebox. I can’t think of a better way to say “Happy Fathers Day” than to create a card with the kids right on it.

There are a few drawbacks though. There is limited photo editing and text options. Although I wanted to try Smilebox right away when I learned about it, I couldn’t because its not compatible with a Mac. When they come out with their Mac version I will be back to give it a try.
